Gluten Free on the Road- Always Be Prepared!

Gluten Free on the Road

Being Gluten Free on the Road can be tricky, when preparing for your summer road trip, be sure to follow these tips!Gluten Free on the RoadProducts in this post were donated by Van’s. No monetary compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

Summer has Arrived!

Summer has arrived and you know what that means- Road Trip!  There is nothing as fun as hitting the road and discovering new places. When I was little my grandparents would take my brother and I with them in their motor home every summer. It was always so much fun. As an adult I took a trip with my best friend and her three little boys to Ohio and that was quite the adventure! Nothing like 3 boys under 6 and a long drive!

Since being diagnosed with Celiac I have learned to be better prepared. Being gluten free on the road isn’t always easy. There just aren’t always gluten free options available, so I always pack an emergency kit! A few Go Picnic lunch kits, some fruit snacks, granola bars and something for a quick breakfast. Even hotels that offer a free breakfast generally aren’t able to accommodate gluten free options beyond a piece of fruit, and maybe a yogurt. You gotta be prepared!

Van’s Gluten Free

Now Van’s has always been a favorite product line of mine. I love their waffles. When they contacted me to try their new Soft Baked Granola Bites in Double Chocolate and Banana Nut and Snack Bars in Gramwich and Banana Bread, I told them to send them my way!

Van’s has quite a variety of certified gluten free varieties that are delicious and these are no different!

My family and I sampled the Banana Bread Bars and the Gramwich Bars. I found the Banana Bread Bars a bit sweet, but I took them to my Gluten Free South Florida Support Group and they were a hit. The Gramwich Bars were a family favorite. They reminded me of a fig newton, but with chocolate instead of fig, which of course is better. Who would ever choose fig over chocolate? My toddler LOVED the Gramwich Bars. They are her new favorite. I always have one in the diaper bag for her.

Van's Snacks

The Soft Baked Granola Bites are delicious as well. I liked the Banana Bread ones over the Chocolate. They are perfect for a snack or breakfast on the road! My husband has been enjoying them with yogurt. The Gluten Free South Florida Group loved them as well, Double Chocolate was the favorite!

These treats are perfect for any road trip! You can follow Van’s on Twitter and Facebook to find out more about their gluten free products!
