Easy, Decadent Gluten Free Chocolate Vegan Mousse

Rich, decadent chocolate mousse that’s not only gluten free, but vegan as well. Spoon after spoon of chocolate indulgence- gluten free vegan chocolate mousse that’s also top 8 allergen free!
Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate Mousse

This post is part of a collaboration between Enjoy Life Foods and My Gluten Free Miami. All opinions are my own.

Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate Mousse

My husband loves chocolate mousse. The recipe I usually use is naturally gluten free, but has raw eggs and dairy- not exactly allergen friendly. I needed a version that had all the flavor and decadence, but non of the allergens for this Valentine’s Day.

This chocolate mousse turned out even better than I imagined. It’s rich and chocolatey, smooth and creamy- everything you could possibly want in a chocolate mousse.

Enjoy Life Chocolate Mousse

Allergy-Friendly Chocolate

Not all chocolate is allergen friendly. Enjoy Life makes  top 8 allergen that is amazing! Chocolate chips, mega chunks, candy bars- all so good. Chocolate is also certified Vegan, Paleo Friendly, Kosher Non-GMO, and of course, certified gluten free.

I’m so excited- from now through the 14th you can get 15% off all Enjoy Life Chocolate. If you order before February 9 you will have it in time for Valentine’s Day!

Gotta Try This

I think my love language is food. Seriously. I knew when I started out to make this chocolate mousse it would be good. I didn’t realize that gluten free vegan chocolate mousse could be amazing.  I know my husband felt loved when he came home from work today and I gave him one of these chocolate mousse to try.

chocolate mousse

He is not usually a coconut fan, but the flavors meld together so perfectly. It doesn’t taste like coconut, just rich and creamy. This is one dessert that any chocolate lover will swoon over.

Recipe Notes:

Chocolate: I used 5 ounces (I measured it on a scale) of Enjoy Life Mega Chunks. The average bag of chocolate chips or chunks is 10-12 ounces, so use about half a bag if you don’t have a scale.

Coconut Whip Cream: It is actually really easy to make the coconut whipped cream. You will need one cup of chilled coconut cream. You can either buy coconut cream of chill 2 cans of coconut milk upside down in the fridge for about 24 hours. When you open the cans you can scrape the cream off the top and you will be left with the coconut milk. Whip it with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and two tablespoons sugar or the sweetener of your choice. If you are like me and don’t want to do all that, you can buy coconut whipped cream. It comes in a container like cool whip.

Because Enjoy Life Chocolate is Paleo friendly, you could choose to make homemade coconut whip cream with a paleo friendly sweetener (or none if you like) and you would have a paleo friendly dessert!

Coffee: I added a half teaspoon of instant coffee granules to one batch. I honestly thought they would dissolve, they did not. However, I liked getting a little burst of coffee flavor here and there. It reminded me of chocolate covered coffee beans. It is totally optional.

This is truly one of our favorite desserts. If you are looking for something a little more hearty, but still vegan, try this Vegan Chocolate Cake from Beaming Baker!

Of course, if you like your chocolate on the hot side, these Vegan Hot Chocolate Bombs from Texan Erin are perfect!

I love chocolate mousse too! I’m definitely going to try the coconut cream too! I once used instant coffee in a panna cotta, it didn’t dissolve, but like you, I didn’t mind the little bites of coffee!

Chocolate mousse is one of my faves! I convince myself it’s somehow better for me because it’s lighter? Haha, don’t know if it’s true but… I will indulge myself and try this recipe soon. 🙂
